The Blackhawks and their marquee players are starting the season in high gear.
Brandon Saad, Patrick Kane and Jonathan Toews each had a goal and assist to lead Chicago over the Columbus Blue Jackets 5-1 on Saturday night.
Richard Panik also scored and Jan Rutta got his first NHL goal as the Blackhawks followed up on a season-opening 10-1 rout of Pittsburgh with another overwhelming performance.
He has thrown 108 career touchdown passes, which ranks second all-time in the Pac-12 and is just eight shy of the conference record held by former USC star Matt Barkley.
Falk threw five touchdown passes in the Cougars’ 56-21 victory over Cal in Pullman, Wash., last year, and the fact that the Bears rank 108th nationally in passing yards allowed this season does not bode well for Cal in Friday’s meeting.
Another such performance might make Falk a more serious Heisman Trophy candidate.
The Cougars have already earned bowl eligibility but that has passed with little notice.
“I mean that’s not our goal,” Falk told the Spokane Spokesman-Review. “Our goals, we’ve still got those ahead of us right now.”
Syracuse (3-3, 1-1 Atlantic Coast Conference) was coming off single-digit losses to LSU and North Carolina State.
“The team is coming together. We’re putting the pieces together,” Butler said. “We feel as though we should have won our last two games. We made some mental mistakes that held US Cheap Jerseys Club us Wholesale Jerseys Paypal back, but we’re finally putting it together.”
Dungey, however, was less than impressed.
